Terms of Service
These terms govern use of natdefsoc.org, The Dispatch, and membership in the National Defense Society. They are written to be read.
The National Defense Society ("NDS", "the Society") is an Indiana nonprofit corporation recognized as tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, headquartered in West Lafayette, Indiana.
These terms apply to the website, to The Dispatch, and to participation in chapter and national programs.
Membership is open to undergraduates enrolled at a campus with a chartered chapter. Applications are reviewed by student officers. The Society may decline or revoke membership for conduct inconsistent with its code, described in Section 4.
Membership confers no employment, placement, or security-clearance guarantee. Partner firms make their own hiring decisions.
Providing an email address to subscribe, apply, or donate authorizes NDS to contact you about that request. You may unsubscribe from The Dispatch at any time using the link in each issue.
You are responsible for the accuracy of information you submit.
Members and visitors to NDS events agree not to harass, discriminate, or misrepresent themselves or the Society. Members may not present personal views as positions of NDS.
Classified or export-controlled information may not be discussed at any NDS event or in any NDS publication.
The NDS name, shield, and lockup are trademarks of the Society and may be used by chapters under the usage guide. The Dispatch and website content are © National Defense Society. Quotation with attribution is permitted; republication requires written permission.
By submitting content to The Dispatch you grant NDS a non-exclusive, perpetual license to publish and archive it, with attribution.
Gifts to NDS are voluntary and, subject to applicable law, tax-deductible. Designated gifts are applied to the named chapter or fund; if that purpose becomes impossible, the board may redirect the gift to the closest available purpose. Refunds are handled case by case within 30 days of the gift.
The website and programs are provided as-is. NDS does not warrant uninterrupted access or the accuracy of third-party content, including chapter sites. To the extent permitted by law, NDS is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the site or participation in programs.
NDS may revise these terms; the effective date at the top will change and material revisions will be announced in The Dispatch. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana. Questions: contact.
