Privacy Policy

Applications: name, university email, campus, class year, major, and your written statement. Subscriptions: email address. Donations: name, email, amount, designation; payment card data is processed by our payment provider and never stored by NDS. Contact form: name, email, topic, message.

The website records standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages visited) for security and aggregate traffic counts. NDS does not use advertising trackers.

To evaluate applications, run chapter and national programs, send The Dispatch, issue donation receipts, and reply to messages. Aggregate, de-identified counts (members, events, placements) are published as statistics.

Applications are read by your chapter lead and the Director of Chapters. Placement rosters shared with partner firms include only members who opt in each spring, and include only name, campus, class year, major, and a résumé the member supplies.

NDS does not sell, rent, or trade personal information. Donor lists are not shared with sponsors or other organizations.

NDS uses third-party providers for email delivery, payment processing, form handling, and web hosting. Each is bound by contract to use data only to provide the service to NDS.

Applications are kept for the duration of membership plus two years. Subscription addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Donation records are kept for seven years as required for nonprofit accounting. Contact messages are deleted after one year.

You may ask to see, correct, or delete your information by writing to privacy@natdefsoc.org. Unsubscribe from The Dispatch using the link in any issue. Members may opt out of the placement roster at any time.

Material changes to this policy will be announced in The Dispatch and reflected in the effective date above. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance.
